Hard work being a baby.....

Some quick snaps from our trip to Starbucks this morning.  We found a street festival along the way and some of us (I'm not going to name names) got a wee bit too tired.

As my little muse has never been one for napping on the go, it was nice to get some snaps of her cute little lashes and sweet pouty lips during today's extra long 15 minute nap.

We tried to transfer her to her crib....which resulted in her rolling around her crib barking like a dog for 35 minutes.Wish I had that picture too ;)

Today's Muse, Miss Elle

Today's muse is sweet sweet Elle, she's cute as can be and was really fun to shoot.  I haven't seen her in months and she's such a big girl now.  We even tried out her first up-do. Don't you just want to squish her?

I've been playing around with my depth of field and tried some new things yesterday.  The lighting was amazing and the subjects were handsome, so I got some very cool pics.

Here are some teaser shots, but I'll post more later.
I love mommy love......

Deep in thought.  Obviously a cerebral little lady!

A peek through the bushes and some fun with depth of field and lens flare

Here today....gone tomorrow

Okay - so two days into my 365 project I have already redesigned my site and renamed my project.  Nice to be able to be so fickle, isn't it?  Thank goodness for technology and the ability to rebrand in the span of a few hours.

Either way, all the feedback people provided (yeah, all 10 of you) was amazing.  You liked the script font and led me in the right direction....which was to scrap 'jennle', scrap the pronunciation part and keep the script.

So....I moved to 'Beloved Muse.'  My daughter is my beloved muse, but I really want to capture the beloved muse in all those I shoot.  I want the person who gets the photo to melt just a wee bit, and sigh, thinking "I'm so glad we captured this moment."

I know, I know.  I'm a sap.  But I really do want to produce pictures that people will cherish.  There I said it.....

And now, here is my new logo.  Thank you to all of you who provided feedback and took part!

Help me choose a logo.....

I need your help.....I want a logo for my photo site, but I can't decide which I like best. Script or something more rustic and handmade? Care to help a sister out?
EDIT: Quiz now closed.

Heavens opened, angels sang, beams of light shone down on.....PSL

I have a confession.  I would feel remiss if I didn't talk about it. I said my daughter was my muse.  Which is true.  She is.

But I feel like I am forgetting to mention my first love, my first muse.....the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) from Starbucks.
Diagnosis: Delicious
This morning I went to SBX today and to my delight I saw it there.  The heavens opened, beams of light shone down on me, angels sang.  Was it the Rapture?  Pretty darn close.
Here is my love letter, in photos, to the PSL.  Welcome back my love.

Every love letter needs
a vintage romance shot.
Am I right?
Vacation.
Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Delicious bread.

Hand in Hand Through Their Parklife

I'm on vacation today, so I was able to spend a lovely afternoon at the park.  The weather is starting to get a bit chilly, so we hauled out hoodies and coats (sigh).  I'm not sure I'm mentally ready for winter yet. Fortunately we got in some fantastic playtime at the park.

I love the unbridled excitement that my little rapscallion shows on the playground. She is fearless and wants to climb up and head down the slide on her own.  You know, because she's not a baby any more.  *insert toddler eye rolling here*

I love the sneaking arm, and the "I wasn't doing anything" look

'Elmo's Ducks' Matinee. Clearly a hit.....
I love the distracted laisse faire look.

September 7.....a Project 365 Start

Okay, so I'm actually going to try to do this.  I'm going to try to do a 365 project.  Meaning taking a picture each day for 365 days.  It seems daunting right now, managing a family, career, health, harmony and a photography hobby.

Did I just call this a hobby? OMG. I just found a new hobby.

This last year and a half feels like it was executed with a camera around my neck.  Having a new baby, and having time afforded by mat leave, meant that I did have the time to take photos.  And I took a lot.  A LOT.  I learned about my camera.  I even stopped shooting everything in 'P.'

Then I found Photoshop actions....I was finally able to see the photos in my mind come to life. One photo in particular made me realise that I wanted to work to become a better photographer, and to document the day to day goings on in life.

So....we'll see what happens.  I am starting my first post without a new picture, so I guess I'm off to shoot :)
