Little Miss Kate is a total doll - with lots of personality as well. She's a busy little lady! We met up to do some shots for her baptism and in the end this happened:
I honestly don't know where the tutu came from or how it got on the baby, all I know is that I HAD to take a picture of it. I'm only human.
More shots to follow early next week!

I can see the mistakes, I just need to learn how to change them
Since I started this project I have really learned so much. It's actually amazing to me. Maybe too much, as my husband is a wee bit worried that I am going to burn out. Maybe spending hours upon hours, night after night of hours on photoshop isn't 'balanced.' He's right. I need to slow down, but it's hard when I am learning so much!
I took some really crummy photos with my phone today. Some were conspicuous, some were inconspicuous; most notably the woman beside me on the GO train with an engagement ring larger than my eye. seriously. That last one was a bit weird because I was lamely pretending to take pictures of my crossword with my phone. Because that makes perfect sense, am I right?
Either way, I spent time editing an old photo today with some new photoshop tutorials. Again, the tutorials at www.mcpactions.com are amazing for learning Photoshop.
Thank you internet. Without you I'd have to rely on....shiver.....books.

But all of this is to say....I am still learning, and the more I learn, the more mistakes I see. Exciting and frustrating at the same time. But then I saw this quote...
"Every time someone tells me how sharp my photos are,
I assume that it isn't a very interesting photograph.
If it were, they would have more to say."

I'm seeing blue dinosaurs
I drank wine, took photos and edited tonight. But that's not why I'm seeing purple dinosaurs.....
First, I was reading up on how to take bokeh shots - these aren't completely bokeh'd out, but I love that you can see the strands. This is my chandelier. I love it.
Wikipedia (what a freaking bragger...) has a much nicer example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bokeh_Example.jpg
But now for my fun shots....I shot this a few weeks ago, and I saw a tutorial online focused on how to change the colour of parts of the image in Photoshop. And I thought to myself....wouldn't you love to see a blue dinosaur?
So, I changed the purple dino to a blue dino in a few quick steps. No really, I barely know how to use photoshop, and it was really easy. You can see the original (bottom) and the changed pic (top).
If we're being picky we could complain about the purple tone to the shadow on the bottom of the dinosaur, but this was quick and dirty, so I don't care.
If you want to know how I did it, check it out here.

Today's Muse.....Miss Brinley
I'm still trucking along on my 365 and so far I haven't missed a day - I visited some dear friends and their little one yesterday and took some shots of the sweetest little family.
